Little Happy

As the pic depicts "pehale socche samjhe dekhe, kuda kudedan main pheke". It's amazing to see little progress towards Clean India. It proves that this mission achieved success to 10% and to carry the achievement further we have to work hard and harder because every little thing counts.

Many don't follow what they preach

Either we can spot paan stains or evry political party blinging their progress and their future promises. I personally see it as an element which is distracting way of Swachh Bharat. Instead if an inpirational poem or any cretaive art would have been here then it might have been a moment of pleasure for viewers as well for designers.

Dirtiest should take lesson from the cleanest.

In the recent survey conducted to measure the impact of Swachh Bharat Mission as in where it has reached and what milestone it has achieved. It disclosed that most of the cities of South India and East India have taken and are carrying it properly.Mysuru has been the clear winner in both the years(last survey conducted in 2014 Mysuru was the clear winner). The other cities include Visakhapatnam, Surat, Rajkot and Gangtok, while Varanasi was the in the top 10 dirtiest cities with Dhanbad leading.
For sure it is an achievement by these cities, especially by people residing there but what about these cities who are listed as dirtiest? I think their municipalities doesn't deserve to exist if they can't do their basic job.

Gandhiji's way of Sanitation

I wonder whether people really know that Mahatma Gandhi was the force behind Swachh Bharat (Quit India, Clean India). Many people were present when our PM Narender Modi was sharing his speech where he said that he wish to give a present of Clean India to Gandhiji.

There were photo ops of our Prime Minister and celebrities who too gave their hand for this initiative but now it seems that it was just for that day. Well, it was PM's duty and he did his part by calling it nation's duty.

Sweeping public places is a very wearisome work. I remember that we were asked by our college that we have to clean our nearby area and at the end I was like it's a very tedious business, how do the daily workers manage?

Gandhiji took up the work of destroying untouchability and insanitation but these evil towers are still present. Gandhiji himself used to carry brooms and cleaned the public latrines himself. From school books to articles I read that Gandhiji carried the pots on his head to far fields and buried the contents underground. It was when Scavengers and low caste people had to go to the houses of higher caste families where they cleaned and collect the pots. I think with this he would have won hearts of many and would made some ashamed of themselves.

When Gandhiji was in Delhi he would stay in Sweepers colony (Valmiki Colony) and this where Shri. Narender Modi started his first sweep for Swachh Bharat.

Though Gandhiji is not here but he would be watching us through that spectacle which has been designed and kept as logo for this cleanliness drive.

Broom in the center

Once people boycotted foreign goods, is this the way to boycott dirt and rags? Do boycott dirt and rags but before that wash on your ignorance towards filthiness. I see many people leaving or throwing paper and wrapper anywhere, many spitting paan and there are people who simply ignore litter present around them, might be busy. Try to be a sensible, realize your responsibility and contribute to clean India for just 2 hours a week.

Ruining the future

"Backside bad walls and in front the future of youth falling"
They don't have what they want. The bright seems to be getting dim.We too are responsible for child labour because we don't do our basic civic jobs. These hands are meant to carry books and must not be used for picking rags.

Sometimes they even pay to work

Everyday they hurt themselves with those broken glass pieces, medical syringes and many other things but they still work. Sometimes these ragpickers also pay to the watchmen to collect buildings dumps if they find anything of value. The thing is exploitation starts from societies only. I mean you are taking bribe from those who earn just ₹40-50 per day. Not only watchmen, those muncipals workers also, they don't do anything, they just want to make some bucks from these people.

Life of Ragpickers

Even after working so hard they are just a bread winner. Even after woking so hard they earn very less. Most of the times their maximum salary is grade pay of governmemt workers.

They get up early in the morning and go scavenging to earn for their livelihood. Just like a bird in the early morning who search for worms kind of things for their livelihood and for their children.

Some prefer working like this because they want to be independent, so they don't have to follow anyone orders. Just like a free bird they can work when they want beacuse they know litter and garbage can be found anywhere. Though their earning is very less but still they work.

Things we think or consider are waste and we throw them has actually got some value which only ragpickers know. Those papers and plastic are jewels for these ragpickers through which they earn. They are doing those things which nobody wants to do.

Now I think of rainy days which are beneficial for farmers, but on the others side when it comes to these ragpickers they don't get chance to collect waste on these days and then no money for the same day.

Some of the organization like Stree Mukti Sangthan are doing very well for their upliftment. But still mentality of many people remains same calling, them Kude wali or Kachre wali bai and some people would keep their hands on nose when passing across them.

Paan Stains Everywhere

Many crores were spent in re-developing these white pillars and walls of Connaught Place. Government had launched Anti-Spitting drive under Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and many people might not be knowing it because they have not fined for spitting.

Paan Thukane Wali Janta...

The thing which really disgust me and there might be many who too get on their nerves, is people spitting on roads, streets, bus stands, metro stations, hospitals(even after prior warnings) and every other place.

Travelling from bus, auto, taxi or travelling by my own car I can easily spot those paan spitters either finishing their uncivilized acts or doing it live. Looking at those stains really makes me angry.

I remeber I was waiting for the bus and a man just spitted there at the bus stand, so I said him 'don't you have any manners, why did you spit here'? and he replied that it's not your father's property.

In Delhi its like if you see some space, use it for peeing and for spitting. Leave metro station, escalators you can easily find those stains in lifts, government hospitals and every next door.

One thing everyone should know and they should tell those spitters is that stain of paan masala, gutkas are permanent in nature and one can't simply remove them using detergents or by simple washing.

There is a need for some strict actions, as in government should impose strict fines on these uncivilized acts.
